Pest Management for Food & Beverage Processing Facilities
Consequences of Lax Pest Inspection Can Be Devastating
According to 2010 estimates from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 48 million people get sick, 128,000 are hospitalized and more than 3,000 die each year from food poisoning in the United States. Although food can become contaminated at any point during production, unsanitary conditions coupled with disease-carrying pests in food facilities can cause widespread outbreaks. Pest management can be challenging even on a small scale and may seem overwhelming in larger instances such as in food processing facilities, warehouses and the like. Regardless of operation size, the consequences of lax pest management can be devastating.
